A free-form pool requires a complementing shape for the surrounding patio. this one has been installed like a ring around the pool. Brick patterns always shift to some degree when working on large surfaces. Careful measurement and use of numerous parallel mason's twines made it possible to exactly match the pattern when closing in on the pattern, coming around the pool from the right and left.

The walkway in the photo on the left will connect to a set of wooden stairs (not yet installed) that lead to the deck.

In Curved brick edges require extensive cutting between the header course and the herringbone pattern.

The cutting is done with a wet-cut saw.
